Safety first. Always.

Every protocol we follow, every piece of equipment we use,
and every decision we make puts your safety first.

Safety at Edison Radiology

Radiation safety

X-rays and CT scans use small amounts of ionising radiation. Our team follows the ALARA principle (As Low As Reasonably Achievable), meaning we use the lowest dose necessary to produce a diagnostic-quality image. Our state of the art equipment delivers exceptional image quality at reduced radiation levels. If you are pregnant or may be pregnant, please inform us before any X-ray or CT scan.

MRI safety

MRI uses no radiation. However, the powerful magnetic field means it is essential that you inform us of any metal implants, pacemakers, cochlear implants, or other medical devices. Our team will conduct a thorough safety check before every MRI.

Contrast media

Some scans use contrast dye (injected or oral) to improve image clarity. We will ask about allergies and kidney function before any contrast is administered. Please let us know if you have had a previous reaction to contrast dye.

Your consent

We will explain your scan, answer your questions, and obtain your consent before proceeding. You always have the right to ask questions and to withdraw consent.
